This message comes from the Quickstart panel. When used for the first time, it checks for every Kickstart version ever built. Of course nobody can have all of them, even AmigaForever does not contain all of them. So the message is normal. Usually you choose a prepared config from the Quickstart panel. If then the message comes again, you really need the ROM for this specific config. If you don't have the ROM, you can still use another config or go to the ROM panel and choose one of the ROMs you have. So don't panic about this message, just click on Ok. Bye, sig deleted - you should know better thomas!!!! - bippy |

The legal status of all Kickstarts is that they are still under copyright, and therefore illegal to distribute without permission. They would of necessity have to be deleted as soon as they were discovered to be posted here, in order to ensure that EAB would not become a target of the copyright holders and their lawyers.

It's so much more satisfying to create your ROMS yourself from your real Amiga. Which you have, right?

It's perfectly legal to gift a kickstart chip to someone, but not it's rom image, probably because that involves reproduction.

Well the copyright holders in this case probably can't scrape up enough money to hire a lawyer so no big deal. Plus even if they did they have to show damages caused by spreading the roms, hard to do since the kickstarts are not sold in any new machines for a long time (some images are included in emulater packages ofcourse).

Yes, but for a small amount of money (not like Amiga Forever is a huge seller is it?)
