Compugraphic fonts that lack kerning information

Just want to make you aware of the fact that the zipped disks with the name "Compugraphic" in

ftp://ftp:any@grandis.nu/Commodore_A...015-10-25_CM)/

contain fonts without kerning information, for the ones who know what that means. You can find some Compugraphic fonts with proper kerning information (CS Times and CS Triumvirate among others) in PageStream, for the record.

Thanks for the info matsp888

In typography, kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font, usually to achieve a visually pleasing result. Kerning adjusts the space between individual letter forms, while tracking (letter-spacing) adjusts spacing uniformly over a range of characters.

Nice clarification. I already know what it means, but many don't.

Yeah, the best/safest Compugraphic fonts come from the "Intellifont" disks with the oversized "AGFA" disk logo.

AFAIK, it's not just an issue of missing kerning, but also a full range of characters that are typically missing from non-official Compugraphic fonts/font disks.
