Building an amiga arcade stick

Hello there.

I was wondering, how hard would it be to build an amiga 2-button arcade stick from scratch? Has anyone ever tried to do it?

I guess it would be really easy...

A very newbie question about it:would I need to vandalize a master system/mega drive pad, or could I make one just wiring a female 9db connector directly to the +connections of the stick/buttons while grounding the ground connectors?

Yes, that's all you need to do for a 2-button stick. Things get more complicated if you want to build one with many buttons, and have them work as a CD32 pad or something - but a simple 2-button stick is just a case of connecting the right wires.

Why limit yourself to two buttons when the hardware supports three natively?
There are three digital input lines on the DB9 so there is no reason to connect only two of them.

But what would I do with the 3rd button? I don't think any game supports it...

I have an arcade stick here built with Sanwa parts, I could try to mod it, It looks like it would be really easy to do it
