[Found: Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera] Not so much a game as an Intro
I once had a copy of PGA tour golf. (Floppy A500)
It had a fantastic intro of a Blue vector spaceship rotating and spinning to a really familiar heavy electric guitar riff. I cant remember the tune or the group involved... Over to the community for help |

Doesn't sound like PGA Tour Golf cracktros to me, unless it was a very poorly spread version.
Agile version was a rotating checkerboard in blue with a text writer over the top Skid Row version was similar in style Rednex version was a text typer |

Found the intro/cracktro
It is by a group called RedDwarfs and was indeed on PGA Tour Golf Also trying to upload the file to the zone. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. I remember it as being a classic Amiga moment! |

Uploaded just the Cracktro to the zone.
I know the tune, but cant get the name! Anyone with info on RedDwarf please let me know. Is the SArek named in the screen grab anything to do with EABs' Sarek2K? Had so many errors on the floppy you would not believe it! Also only way of getting it across to PC was CrossDos. Had to use WinImage on my XP PC to format a PC floppy to 720K aswell - who said PCs were friendly? Last edited by DDNI; 01 April 2006 at 01:34. |

Just listened to it... I do sort of remember this track.
Bit drunk at the moment so can quite put my finger on it, sound very familiar though |

tried rescuing the original floppy disc with Disksalv II.
PGA loads up and on the copy protect screen I can see that it is the AGILE crack. Looks like Reddwarfs have added their own cracktro to the Agile release |

It's not really "their" intro either, it was made with the RSI Demomaker...

It's based on a rock 'classic' but for the life of me I can't remember it.
Never heard of the 'Red Dwarfs' before. Probably some group of modem traders that bunged their intro on the Agile release before they spread it by mail to all their 'fans'. |

the Sarek mentioned in this intro (RSI) is me and those guys mentioned in it are some of my old friends however at the time only Agent Orange knew of the scene and he had a couple of friends in groups he swapped with. The other people mentioned in it are my friends and we all used to meet up to play games on sundays.
The intro was done by Agent Orange and also he used my red dwarf logo but thats as much as i knew about the intro (or it getting released to a select few traders ) NON of us at the time even knew what a modem was Hope that clears a few things up! i have sent more info to DDNI in a PM! The reason i didn't recognise this intro or even know of it's existence is because it was done so badly and we were never an official group not in any circles and as for the name Red dwarfers would be because we also used to watch Red Dwarf inbetween playing games ) Last edited by sarek2k; 01 April 2006 at 16:20. |

Many thanks Sarek! It is great to put a real life story to a bit of my Amiga past....
I remember getting the floppy from a guy who lived around the corner from me in Colchester. He was known to us as Bink. He always seemed very involved in distributing stuff - he had a 9800 baud modem!! I also remember seeing my first ever SNES floppy backup system at his house. Maybe someone here knows him? Still wanna know the tune name though Last edited by DDNI; 01 April 2006 at 18:47. |

I think I figured out the source of the intro tune!!
It sounds like a loop of the first few seconds of Blondies "call me" [ Show youtube player ] Surprised cos I thought it was a heavy metal tune! |

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is haunting me!!!
It is NOT the blondie loop that I thought it was.... Last night i was watching Dirty Sanchez the Seven deadly sins episode one - Sloth. In the sketch where they play shin kicking, the background music IS THE EXACT tune that I want a name for.... Please all of you go watch it and tell me the tune name. I think it can be seen on the MTV website... |

can you reupload it or point me to the exact link? the Blondie loop thing has made me remember something to me too...
[edit] without having listened to it yet, actually, could it be Incident at Neshabur of Santana? |

i remember last running it from a bootable floppy on a vanilla 4mb a1200
Use dopus to install a floppy then make S and C directories. put reddwarf in C and make a startup-sequence in S that read c:reddwarf |

well, it's not Incident at Neshabur exactly, the rithm is more squared and only a part of the riff is alike; when the riff changes climb up the scale this goes another way.
however, listen for yourself: http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=AUIdealFFds |
