Zorro C64 port to Amiga

Would this game be easy to port to amiga?

It's a cool game I've always liked on c64 like Henry's House...

Looks simple enough. Finding someone to port and upgrade graphics is hard part.

Great game, one of my favourites on ZX Spectrum. It should be "easy" to enchance in the sense that the base material is fairly simple, so not as much work would be needed as in case of other games from 16 bit consoles or arcades (though of course it'd still be a big effort)

i wouldnt mind the looping thing, its just that the loop is so short, thats whats drives you nuts.

Using A4000 Quickstart with 8MB Fast it seems to run at normal speed, with a bit of GFX glitching here and there

There'd be something special seeing this game run on Amiga, and even on my real Amiga

fun
never tried before the c64 emulation on Amiga

here i have grabbed Frodo2.4 ,Magic64 1.8 and A64

on Frodo, Zorro seems running very slow (68020-68040 tests), expecially the music

on Magic64, seems perforimg little better having a 68030 or better

now A64 seems the better of the set with this game, it does seems to perform pretty decently with a 68030, not so bad as the others also on 68020; even a bit better if runned on Fast RAM and pushed at 60Hz

>WinUAE emulation tests<

I played this on the Atari 800xl, and as soon as I hear the word Zorro, the music is looped in my brain. Pitfall II does the same thing.

I added my Zorro C64 HDF to the Zone if anyone wants to try it. Use A4000 with Fast Ram

The c64 emulator is packed inside AGS251 as well with quite a few games, pitty Zorro still suffers even with the providing uae with ags251

the topic seems a direct porting for Amiga using source code, but you run the game in C64 emulation?

Emulation is just a method to try and get the game working natively on the Amiga in the meantime...

I hope there's interest in the amiga community to get this game ported to amiga

Zorro 500, 1200 or even Zorro SAGA version would be awesome. With updated and enhanced sound, music and graphics of course.

Watching through the longplay vid, there isn't huge amount going on at any point. A 64 colour EHB conversion might look pretty good and have no problems for speed. Although, there'd be a whole load of work in Dpaint for somebody. At least the programming side of things doesn't look like it'd be too complicated.

However, there is another Datasoft game that springs to mind as a possible conversion to Amiga... Bruce Lee
