Question Amigakit, A1200 availability

Sorry if posted in the wrong forum (mods please feel free to move if indeed).

Anyone know when will Amigakit.com have those A1200s in stock? Having a new, refurbished A1200 with 12 month guarantee sounds tempting but I'm not sure if I should wait at all..as I have no idea when will they be available (if at all).

Thanks.

Hi,

As soon as we get stock we normally add them to the store.

They haven't had any for a while and they might never get any again. If you want a NOS A1200, see this thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=65059&page=5
They are new and unused, but after the long storage they might not work and do not have warranty, so keep this in mind. Several of the PSUs were found to be bad.

So if warranty if important, you can keep checking Amigakit's homepage. If you're lucky, some might be available some time, maybe in 2 months, maybe in 2 years.

Yeah I was just about to post that I placed an order with Mr. Tyschtschenko.
I'm aware of the risks but, most of the folks seem happy with them. The casings are in most cases well preserved as for the PSU..well..if it's broken I don't think it's that much of a big deal. BTW, do you or anyone else who got one of those know what PSU is it? Is it European or US-based voltage?

Thanks.

It is European. PAL machines
Several have gone to Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia, and they are all in perfect order.

What would really be nice, if Amikit would strike a deal with the NOS 1200 guy, to buy them all, then repair them if needed, and sell them from their website. They might cost more, but it would be worth it to have one with a warranty. Just a thought.

If Amigakit would do this! I would buy one right now

So in reality I have to get one via the other route. Regarding the power supply, can it be opened up? if so I will mod it with a matx psu.

Amigakit, A1200 availability

I have one from the second batch that I bought from a UK seller; it came without the 14 disk Magic Pack and manuals. The protective inserts are cheap cardboard and the box was crushed and covered in mold. The PSU works (220V) and the machine (3.1 ROMs) is perfectly new is appearance and function. I "built" a new dual voltage PSU (an On-Off switch, 5-pin connector, and 25 buck mATX power supply) in about 30 minutes for N American use, cleaned and repaired the box as best able, located the whole Magic Pack, and the manuals (well DOS is for 3.0). So now I have a complete NOS working A1200.

Could not refrain from adding a Blizzard 1230 @50 with 128 MB add on with SCSI unit & another 128 MB stick.

I've bought a NOS A1200 from Amigakit three years ago. After reading all your comments I can say I'm a lucky man
