But... its just the motherboard...an my amiga memories has faded a long time ago , its a A4000 rev B but...

What power does it need?
Ram?

Hi ya, welcome back to the Amiga.

In answer to you questions in order.
PSU I think gives out a clock signal, so you maybe stuck with finding one. But saying that, there is bound to be someone on here with an idea.
RAM, Amigakit sells that. http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...x.php?cPath=25 you will need both the Fast Ram and Chip Ram
You will need a CPU card, that plugs into the motherboard.
You can connect to your LCD tv, but it will only be via the Video port of the A4000. You will need an Amiga RGB to Scart lead. However, I have had problems (unresolved) with BOTH LCD TV,s of different makes actually syncing properly and leading to a rolling picture. Again Amigakit sell an Indivision AGA adapter that sit's on a chip on the A4000 motherboard so it's internal. It's here http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=864
Thats providing your LCD tv has a VGA port.

Hope this gives at least some help for now.

Martin

i cant really answer the cpu one.The cheaper one had an 030 card.So im not sure if it was interchangeable with an 040 one that was on earlier A4000's.You be fine with 3.1 kickstart chips since this allow you to run os 3.5/3.9.i think you be struggling with speed with 4.0 on wards.

The stock A4000 is not able to view YouTube or CSS sites unfortunately.

A Zorro network card is required (such as X-Surf with EasyNet software) to join the Internet:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=250

We stock a 128MB or 256MB Fast Memory upgrade for the A4000 called ZorRAM:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=958

We sell brand new 4GB CF Hard Drives (Sandisk brand) are here:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=883

Note: Avoid Kingston branded CF cards due to Amiga compatibilty problems. OS 3.9 pre-loaded hard drives supplied without original 3.9 CD are not licensed.

thanks for that, i'll check your web site as i build up my 4000. i have the 3.9 cd-rom somewhere already i think . so what spec are we talking about to have 3.9 running a reasonable pace for web browsing? and is 3.9 able to use the old software from the A500 days?

Forget about web browsing mate, the 68k browsers are so crap that its nothing but painful. But to answer your question, I would recommend at least an 040.

You can run most A500 games/demos straight from HD with WHDLoad. http://whdload.de

The A4000 PSU don't have a tick generator, nor the A4000 needs one. Only the A2000 & the A3000( and T model) need the tick ("clock").

You can easily convert an ATX pc PSU to Amiga standard, but you need to source the Amiga power connector.

Here is the link to know how convert it.

Enjoy!
