Unhappy So close to online Miggy, but no cigar

I'm so close I can taste it!

I have been battling to get my 1200 online via my Ma401 wireless card for about a year now.

Got the correct prism drivers installed and correctly configured.
Installed Miami Deluxe and configured.
When online, I can Ping my router, Laptop and any devive connected to my LAN using miamiping.
I can also ping my Amiga from any computer on my network.
I can also ping Amazon, Google, Amibay, my DNS servers and any website you care to mention.
When I launch AWeb and enter the IP address of Google, the Home page appears.

All good so far.

If I type a web address in, I get 'CANNOT RESOLVE HOST NAME.'

I have tried numerous times to manually enter the IP address' of my DNS servers into Miami, under the Databases tab, but they stay resolutlely empty.
Like I said, I'm so close I can taste it, has anyone got any ideas?
I have googled this to death and found nothing that works.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi, maybe you need to press enter on each field after entering the IP address of the DNS servers.
Try that ...

Send a message via ICQ to Chain

at least one DNS must be on the list, otherwise it will not work.

Notice with Enter key is probably the key (what a pun)

Have you defined your Gateway correctly?

Most routers resolve the DNS automatically, so it's important that you define your gateway.

But for best performance you could define the primary and secondary DNS pointing to your router, and/or modem attached to router.

Example:

Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (router)

Primary DNS: 192.168.2.1 (router)
Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254 (modem)

Some ISPs supply custom DNS ips, if so it should be in the internet account papers from your ISP. Or call them. There are also public DNSes. At least on other computers the DNS ip has nothing to do with the IP of the router or modem.

The DNS ip is the address of any nameserver to translate "www.google.com" to "74.158.1.123" or whatever.

If possible, also eliminate any router problems by connecting the Amiga directly to your modem with a cable, if at all possible. If not, test the wireless ability by trying to connect to internet with a wireless laptop and use the settings that succeeded.

Me, I'd stab myself twice before using wireless on Amiga. Why? Because wired is better, and my Amigas deserve the best

Well at least you won't forget it now, I also lost a bunch of time with that couple of years ago, that's why I remember it.

We should write a step by step guide and on 'How to set up MiamiDX' and put it in the FAQ section.

So... Anyone up to the challenge? I have similar issues... Mainly to do with DNS setup and keeping Miami connected or getting it to not eat the registration keys
