Help with the appearance in WB3.1/Scalos

Hi, I'm a bit new to the Amiga emulation scene. I understand all the basics of playing my old favourites on my PC but have just started backing up my library onto a HDD rather than be disk swapping all the time. I installed ClassicWB UAE version onto my PC using my old copy of Workbench 3.1 and I must say, it looks a lot better than it did back on my old A1200.

What I need help with though is how do you change the appearance of the whole thing? How do you change the wallpaper, how do you change icons? (All the folders I've created still have the original Shell folder icons from WB3.1)

I also have a lot of drawings that me and friends did back in the early 90's and I've love to be able to set them as my wallpaper and maybe even transfer them over to a format that my pc can understand.
Can anyone give me any advise onto how to change my OS appearance?
Many thanks.

Have a look under "Settings->Scalos->Pattern", either from the top left drop-down menubar or under the bottom left Run icon.

From the Scalos Pattern prefs you can add wallpapers.

To change icons, look under the right click popup menu "icons->update".

Thanks for this. Never learnt how to.

Went from years of the old hand boot screen screen on my very first A500+ to Win95 without ever going too deep into the Amiga. apart from having several 100 games.

No problem, thanks for the kind words and welcome to EAB.

You'll find EAB to be a really helpful place to get back up to speed with things Amiga wise.

Have a watch of the vids on the ClassicWB site as they can offer a few tips on what's possible if you haven't already:

Also, you may want to check out the other packs, AmigaSYS and AmiKit:
