Mouse speed issue with Sierra's later games (WHDLoad)
I'm having a problem where if the mouse is moved too quickly the pointer becomes erratic and generally moves in the opposite direction.
It happens in Sierra's later engine (Kings Quest 5, Space Quest 4, Castle of Dr Brain etc..) For example upon loading KQ5 the problem starts when it asks if you've played KQ before. I've tried all sorts of tooltypes, reducing mouse speed in winuae config etc? |

I haven't encountered anything like this. It looks to me like a configuration problem. Maybe you should attach your config file?

Hmm getting the same in "Roll or Die" whdload..
I double checked some other games that previously worked fine and they are still ok.. seems game specific |

It is probably normal. Some games don't like too fast mouse speeds (Amiga standard mouse is very low DPI) and don't handle mouse counter overflows.
It also happens with real hardware if you have you have 3rd party higher DPI or PC PS/2 mouse in adapter. |

OK thanks Toni
I can make the issue almost disappear by running from minimal startup and lowering the winuae mouse speed to <50.. (something running in wb/scalos was making it much worse.) |

Interesting is that I completed all these games on WinUAE and on real Amiga (both using WHDLoad) and I never had had a problem with mouse speed.

Perhaps it is due to adjusted WB mouse speed setting? AFAIK most Sierra games are system friendly (or at least partially).
