FS-UAE - User Themes

Hey friends,

I've made some themes for my games to fill the black borders left and right on the screen, because most games have 4:3 screen resolutions and the most displays today are widescreen (16:9 ; 16:10).

In attachment you'll find a example from these games, especially for the game "Traps 'n' Treasures". The overlay image are fitted for my iMac Display (1680x1050). The game runs on zoom 640x480 to fit in the theme.

The Disk loading is displayed by "DFx: loading..." for DF0: to DF3:

Simply copy the zipped folder to the themes folder and add the line "theme = Traps" to the config...

If anyone want, I'll provide the template in PSD format.

Here are some screenshots and the zip archive of the theme...

@nexusle: I can provide a file area where you can host files, if you want...

I'm also thinking about a (small) feature for FS-UAE launcher / database - if a theme is found with a name corresponding to the game name, it is automatically used when starting that game. So one could just unzip a "pack of game themes" and the launcher would automatically pick those up..

Very nice themes, Nexusle. My setup is 1280x800 (I use a 13" inch macbook pro). Would you please upload your PSD so I see how I can make mine ?

Great idea as well, Frode !

FS-UAE is becoming more and more exciting hehe.

The resolutions have the same aspect ratio:
Code:
>>> 1680/1050.0
1.6000000000000001
>>> 1280/800.0
1.6000000000000001
So you should be able to use Nexusle's theme without modifications (FS-UAE will scale the theme automatically).

In the next days, I'll add some more themes and the PSD file.

But you can make your own file by creating a project with your screen dimensions. Then calculate a rectangle in this project with the same screen height but a width with a divisor for 4:3. Simply divide the 800/3 and multiply it with 4.
