Question Workbench best screenmode on Pal TV????

Hi!!!!

I'm running an CD32/SX32 +8Mo Fast with OS3.9 on a PAL TV Screen
In Prefs/Screenmodes, i have the choices between these 6 modes :

Pal: Lo-res
Pal: Lo res-Laced
Pal: Hi-res
Pal: Hi-res Laced
Pal: Super Hi res
Pal: Super Hi-res Laced

My question is: Is it possible to add any custom screenmodes because i don't really like laced mode on TV (it just burn my eyes ) and super hi res is a bit too high (1280X256 is quite unreadable)
I'm searching a way to display a screen mode like 800X600 non-laced on my little config

Is it possible???

I've found an archive on aminet called VideoDriv13.lha wich seems to add 800x600 screenmode

I can't use it, but it's perhaps it's just impossible.......
Please let me now what i can do

Thanks

theres only two things you can do my friend one is expensive and invloves buying a scan-doubler / flicker fixer,

the only other method is to run from RGB out to RGB in, thats the best pictiure you will get i am afraid..

I would suggest 640x256x32, its what i run, and it looks clean and crisp on a monitor... with just enough room to play with...

You can play around with the overscan settings too to give yourself a bit more desktop space.

mmmm 32" 100hz..... yummy....

Ok Thanks

I'm running 640x256x32 too via RGB scart on 50Hz TV and it's a sharp image, your're right, Zetro

But i think the icons are a little bit too large on screen, that's why i want to
change resolution in fact
Is there a way to reduce the icons size in OS3.9 ????

I will try to play with overscan too

Thanks again

I think there are some Icon packs on Aminet... failing that get your hands on a program called Iconian and you can modifiy your own... in fact I am sure that under New-Icons you can modify All the icons at once.... if memory serves me well .....

I've found the package on the Synotech website, not aminet in fact

http://www.synotec-newmedia.de/downloads.2.html

The Glow Icons look like the default OS3.9 icons but are smaller

Great for low-res

Are there any smaller NewIcons around, rather than GlowIcons as I only have 3.0?

I've only ever seen the magic workbench icons used in the classicwb full for tvres. No newicon packs.

http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/full.htm

Some people don't like those though.

Yes, but not glow/os3.5+/png icons.

What I meant in my last post is I haven't seen tvres (640x256) smaller proportioned newicons, only normal/magic icons.

Perhaps the synotec icons can be adapted with iconian for newicon.library but it's a long work......

They'll be a shell/cli utility or command on Aminet that can convert them all (from glow to newicon) in one go I would have thought.

Worth a look Graham, or a search on here as I seem to remember someone mentioning it.

Cheers for the advice guys. I did a bit of searching on here and one thread (can't remember which one right now, might be the one you're thinking of Bloodwych) mentioned a program called "ConvertColorIcon", however I did a search for it on Aminet and couldn't find it. Anyone heard of/used it?
