Upgrade Classic WB3.0 to 3.1

Hi,

I've succeeded in installing classic wb to my real A1200. My A1200 had wb3.0 on it. I've made a classicwb 3.1 setup in winuae and copied all the files (system.zip) to my a1200. (First I had deleted all existing files on dh0: )
Now on top of the screen it still says 3.0. In Winuae I see 3.1. Can I simply install the 3.1 disks on top op my current setup? Or is there a much better way to fix this.

Thx in advance.

Hi Riempie,

You can install CWB with Workbench 3.1 it will work fine but you have 3.0 roms so it will always say 3.0 at the top of the screen unless you change the roms.

You'll only *need* to change them if you want to run OS3.5 or OS3.9

Steve.

As fitzsteve said, that top ROM number comes from the ROMS inside the Amiga, so it's a hardware version not the Workbench version. So in WinUAE you are using 3.1 ROMS, on your real Amiga 3.0.

You can change it if you want in Scalos prefs under the Settings menu. In fact, you can make that bar read whatever you want.

To check the version of Workbench you are running, open a shell window and type version. You will see you are running Workbench 3.1 - I think Workbench 3.1 is version 40.xx or something when 3.0 is 39.xx

Oops I thought the number belonged to workbench, not the kickroms...

I have kickrom 3.0 indeed.

I must be confused with my prevoius setup on my old hd which used something other than Scalos and mentioned the wb-version.
