CF card voltages

Ok,

I'm getting confused about what CF's to use with my A1200 - I never knew that there were 3.3v & 5 V cards...

...I just bought a couple of these microdrives to use to replace my hard drive in my amiga and also to use with a pcmica adaptor to transfer files between pc & Amiga:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-3GB-ATA-IDE-...3%3A1|294%3A50

So will it work ok in the IDE CF adaptor and the PCMICA adaptor?

I'm confused as it says 3.3V operation and I didn't know what each adaptor puts out?

Any help would be great cheers.

I don't know if this applies to the Amiga already, because its PCMCIA port is older than the oldest norm, but actually the connector should be encoded so that the wrong card does not fit into the slot.

Send a message via ICQ to Chain
some CF-ide have jumper for 3.3/5V selecting (mine is from conrad)
some dont, as they powers CF directly from pin 44, which is 5V.

Thre MIGHT be simple solution, cut that line and place small smd voltage regulator inbetween

as there is no electronic in pcmcia-CF adapter (atleast i never saw any with it, it was always just two connectors and small pcb+ cover) it will not work in pcmcia probably.
If you bought two of them,
you can try,
if it will fry...
