FS-UAE is giving me MSG_22 booting OS4 HDF.
So I managed to get OS4 CD booting and installed it to a HDF file I created from FS-UAE Launcher 2.6.2. I ended up using SFS as the file system. Everything seemed fine.
So I quit UAE, ejected the CD and reloaded it. OS4 then loaded up from the HD. And I installed some extras. After needing to reinsert the disc. At this point I note that mouse buttons don't work and I can't bring up the early start screen. I don't know what key is Help. I quit and reload. It then loaded up and the insert disk screen appears! I don't recall changing anything. I went into the Cyber settings and after reading some guides noticed my SCSI unit 0 was off. So I turn it on. And try again. It then comes up with an error MSG_22. I read this relates to adding a HD volume as a directory which isn't supported in PPC mode. But I have added an actual file. In fact the GUI would only let me select a file with the file gadget I clicked. Okay so does anyone know what is going on? One time all is fine and I can install OS4. The next I'm getting errors. :-? |

NUMSG_UAEBOOTROM_PPC (22) means that you are trying to boot a PPC-only OS (AmigaOS 4) with the UAE boot ROM enabled. You need to make sure you are not using *any* UAE expansions.
If you post the log file, it should be easy for me to spot the problem. |

Thanks for the hint Frode. What is the UAE boot ROM? Not related to the fall-back AROS ROM? As it it loading my A4000 3.1 ROM file.
In any case I found the cause of the problem. I was testing with bsdsocket.library enabled. This tripped it off. Here is a log from the MSG 22 section: Code:
