E-UAE & Joysticks

Has anybody managed to get a joystick working under E-UAE, it seemed to work once when first used, then that
was its lot, not managed to get it working correctly since.

Stick is a Competition Pro USB thing that I am not a lover of anyway, and never was even in the old days. Using the
keyboard in anyway instead of a stick does my old fingers in

You can use USB joysticks/-pads with SDL library. It's build in. But: You must plug in your joystick/-pad BEFORE you start E-UAE.

That is what I do, I did state it sort of works.

USB Competition Pro all plugged in load games, screen says -

" PRESS FIRE TO START " nothing does not work.

Gave up on this last night.

This morning I thought matbe just maybe it is the bloody stick, it has never given me trouble before.

So how to test it, I fired up the Spectrum emulator ZXSP which has a Kempston Joystick Interface
screen that shows what is being pressed.

All fired up, now to test, U = OK D = OK L = OK R = OK, so far so good

Right Button = Nothing Left Button = Intermittant

So after all that it is a dodgy stick.

Sorry to waste peoples time who replied, thanks anyway.
