The Halley Project
I have a boxed game (I assume its a game havnt touched it) called The Halley project : A mission in our solar system by Mindscape. Is this the same one as the Haley Project listed on the caps website under wanted?
If so I have it, looks complete with 1 floppy, audio tape, and whatever stuff is supposed to be in the box. let me know. [Edit: Just fixing the title - Fiath] Last edited by fiath; 09 January 2004 at 13:27. |

That is the one! Fantastic. Hopefully it is not modified (like the only current one we have). Please don't pick now to play it.
Do you have a 68020+ Amiga system you can use to dump it? If so, send us a mail, and we will send you all dumping tool + instructions etc. Thanks! |

I havnt touched it since I got it, but it was used dont even know if its usuable but every other game I tried from the lot was perfect. The guy I got it from kept good care of his games.
Anyway I have a A1200 with a phase 5 Blizzard IV 68030/50 with FPU, 16mb 32 bit ram, and an external commodore 1011 drive (the internal drive works also). There is an audio tape in with the other stuff (one floppy and manuals). email me with the software and instructions and I will get back to you. Is this program rare or something? |

Great! Its pretty unusual to find somebody with your config in the US... Anyway, I'll send you a mail with instruction etc.
The game seems to be rare over here in Europe, but much easier to get in the US. Rarity is location dependant. However, it is even more rare to find one that has not been modified (by save game or hiscore). If anyone else sees it in the US and can pick it up for dumping go ahead, one day we'll surely get lucky with it. |

If your game was used it probably has some save or hiscore in it, fingers crossed that it has been unused!

Bad news I am afraid.

Yes, thanks again for trying.
Anyway, the game will stay on the wanted page until we find a good copy... Perhaps I can try to contact the developers. Does it have any names/credits in the box/manual? If you have any other games, feel free to dump them! |

I also have an original of Halley Project, however it is one that I acquired from someone else long ago, so I can't say whether it may have been modified or not before I got it. I have lots of originals of various titles that I'm sure would not have been modified since I first bought them, but this is the only title that I noticed in the "Most Wanted" list that I knew I had an original of. I still have a lot of work to do to put together a list of my originals and crosscheck that against the list of CAPS releases to see if I might have a few that aren't on either list, and therefore worth dumping.
Until now I haven't had an adequate hardware setup to try to dump any of my originals, but I think my recently acquired A2000HD should be capable of it now that I've upgraded it with an '030 board and some extra RAM. I understand that there's some sort of a dumping disk that I should be able to use to determine whether my machine is up to the job, is there not? If so, how do I go about getting a copy? [Edit] I've just now snatched up a box of originals just to see if I'd find that everything in the box was already on the release list, and I'm somewhat encouraged to find that out of 13 games in the box, 4 weren't on the release list yet. Better yet, 1 of the 4 (Silicon Dreams) actually was on the "Most Wanted" list, and this should be an unmodified original. Hopefully my system will check out and I'll be able to contribute a few dumps. Last edited by Chuckles; 28 January 2004 at 08:20. |

Fantastic!
Okay. I have sent you an email with all the needed info. Thanks! *fingers crossed* p.s. Obviously, don't test to see if the game works |
