not a clue baby!
Not sure anyone will get this - but im lost
It was a scroller one minute, where you shot the baddy's (in green suits I think) then you would jump into a room and hide behind boxes with a sniper and had to kill all the snipers - the rooms were always dark - but the outside bit on the corridor was always light - i also seem to recall the guy you played as looked a bit like robocop with a silver suity thingy :eek I may have 2 games mixed up there as I was quite young as I recall, but im almost sure it was the same game - and no it ain robocop |

Forgot the title
Damn! I know which game you refer to but cannot find the title.
It is published by Imagine in 1988 and is a coin-op conversion. You play a soldier who must shoot his way to the right in the horizontal scrolling levels. Once you make it to the finish, the game turns into a static 3D screen affair where you must shoot boxes enemy soldiers and lasers. I always thought this game only appeared on C64 although Akira put a scanned preview of this game on EAB a couple of weeks ago. Please can anyone help us? |

Is it my memory?
@Akira
Maybe my memory is letting me down but somehow I remember it was you who provided EAB some scanned previews of Amiga games which finally never were published. Gryzor was one of them. Am I correct? @Daz, Here is a screenshot of Gryzor from the Arcades... |

I'm fairly sure I've seen that game for the Amiga. on the C64 we had it named as Contra, and found it under this name for the NES as well. I'll go check if I can find the game.

The Amiga only got a version of SuperC, not Gryzr, methinks.
Hey Rim, I only posted a scan of Metal Gear Amiga, but EONS ago. I haven't posted anything for Gryzor. I also put up scans for Ajax and..err... Lifeforce methinks. And Castlevanai and Blades of Steel. |

If you want to play Gryzor, be sure to play the Amstrad CPC Version It´s the best out there, even better than the Arcade one

About being this called Gryzor or Contra.
Contra is the name in US, Gryzor is the name in Japan. I believe when converted to the home systems, the names got mixed-up. Some versions were called Contra, and others Gryzor. |
