Best way to create a simple GUI

Hello there and Happy New Year to everyone

There is this small tool on aminet called convert.lha. It is a currency converter tool which updates live on the time of conversion and gets the latest exchange rates. The only problem is that it works only from CLI. I contacted the author to get permission to play with it and he says go for it. Since I can't find any other tool to do this on my Amiga, it would be nice if that nice little tool had a simple GUI.

What would be the best way to build a small simple GUI for it in order to enter the currency codes for conversion as well as the amount? I tried R but can't make it work. Does anybody has an idea how to do it?

Thanks in advance

You can use BMenu for it.
Same way Bloodwych used it for custom options on his ClassicWB packs.
I used it as well and it’s rather easy

Ok. Will give it a try tomorrow. Can I find it on aminet? A quick search as BMenu didn't give me anything except ButtonMenu. Is that it?

Thanks a lot

The sample ReAction program in the 3.5 Native Developer Kit is actually a currency converter.

I have 3.9 cd. Is it there too or do I need to find the 3.5 installation?

The Convert program was made with ARexx and I made a GUI version of it using Triton GUI libraries. You can download the quick'n'dirty GUI hacked version here.

Thanks man, I'll give it a spin!
I installed Triton the other day and trying to find time to tinker with it.
Checking the example code will surely help \o/

I was about to make a script with RequestText, RequestControl etc :P
