Looks way cool; if only I still had my SNES but unfortunately gave it away in 1998 (with classic 20 games)

Cheers guys!
I purchased this SNES this year for £20 and I didn't want to start collecting a mass of SNES games, as I'm mainly an Amstrad/Amiga guy. Now I've got this, I don't need to |

Yeah, it's probably the best device for the SNES. Especially with the great enhanced MSU-1 hacks with new Intros and streaming CDDA music tracks. I still enjoy my Super Everdrive flashcart though.

ouch at the price £150! Had it been £70-£80 like some of the earlier similar models then it would be worth it.

The MSU hacks are indeed brilliant. CD quality audio tracks for Zelda, Metroid Chrono Trigger etc are fabulous, and the fmv is great too

I have what is now called the Everdrive x7 for the Megadrive, and it's just leagues ahead of the other two. So depending on all you want to do with the device, you can go one way or the other. The top-of-the-line solutions are not for everyone, and you can't have all that on a lower cost device. Just the change from Flash ROM to PSRAM is huge. Loading times are much smaller and since you are not flashing, it doesn't have a "shelf life", all the solutions using Flash ROM have a limited number of writes allowed, even if it's in the tens of thousands, some day it will stop. There's no such issue with PSRAM. |
