Exile AGA WHDLoad?
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there's a whdload for Exile AGA? I can't find one on the whdload site, just for OCS Exile. At the moment I'm having to play it through winuae but I'd rather play it on real hardware. Failing that, has anyone had any luck getting it to run from WB by dragging the two disk's files into a directory and dbl clicking on 'exile'? I just get a blank output window. That's on both an 060 and on an 040 Amiga. |

np. while reading again the info of this patch, it seems it is a standalone version,
does not need jst in this case. anyway, good to have them all preserved. btw. did someone saved/preserved the jst slaves/installers on jst's website already? |

You can find the game (Exile_v1.0_AGA_HD_JOTD_0885.lha) on the ftp in /Commodore_Amiga/Retroplay/HDLoaders/

well this isn't really a JST slave. It's a DOS-based patch.
But good news is Exile AGA will be supported on whdload very soon, alongside the ECS & CD32 versions. AGA version is now running on my machine, with load/save and all. |

JOTD, can I copy 'Exile - Discovery Disk' contents into /data/save subdir of WHD slave, to add the expansion disk?

Well, I think so. I'm going to try to add official support for it

According what is written in reviews, that "data disk" is just twelve saves and some hints. So this is not real expansion set, sadly...
Edit: That's even worse than DLCs for games nowadays. Last edited by Solo Kazuki; 04 May 2020 at 14:50. |

I've read somewhere it should add some extras like teleport etc. since the original game was too hard...
Ok, I've just read the review and was a quite lame (yet useful to improve gameplay experience) release indeed Last edited by hexaae; 04 May 2020 at 16:42. |

It could be released as cover disk to some Amiga magazine, but sold as "expansion set"... well, in gentle words it was not right. Some people whose bought this thinking that's real expansion could be disappointed.
