Is it possible to re-crunch a file with FUNGUS decruncher ?

XfdDecrunch can decrunch them but how can you crunch a file again ?
There's no 'xfdCrunch' or anything else that looks like a cruncher in the archive.

I need to do this because I'm trying to understand the internals of a file format, by patching the decrunched file, crunching it again and testing the result to see what such byte change does to the game.

Game in question is Zool, I've reverse-engineered most files but there are still a few bits I need to understand.

Thanks for your help !

If you're using the WHDLoad version with files, you might not need to re-crunch it. Often games will load a file, call the decruncher, and continue. If the file isn't crunched with what they expect, it often just returns without any error. So you might be lucky!

At a later point if you need to put the file back onto a disk, you'll probably have to hack the game code to use a different cruncher assuming you can't contact Fungus the Bogeyman (real name, changed by deed poll) and get him to send you his cruncher!

Sorry I forgot to mention it's a CD32 game ...
Unfortunately the WHDLoad version just contains 2 floppies, the files are not directly accessible. (unlike Zool 2)
I'll try to put a decrunched version, rebuild the ISO and test to see whether it runs.
Regarding hacking the code, unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to do that
I'll see whether I can get any infos on the original author and contact him.

Thanks !

Fungus, or should i say Fungus the Bogeyman (lol the name), was a gremlin graphics coder. His real name is Colin Dooley.
