Why doesn't F12 work in fullscreen mode?
I was used to being able to press F12 to bring up WinUAE's GUI. However, this doesn't seem to work any longer in the recent versions. Is my config messed up or has something changed here? When I am in windowed mode, pressing F12 brings up WinUAE's GUI as usual but in full screen this doesn't seem to work here any more?!

Never occurred for me when in "Fullscreen" mode; <F12> always brings up the GUI (and trust me, I always use the latest version of WinUAE since back before v1.0.0 / 2005).
You should capture full logs i.e. "Paths"--> tick "Enable full logging", and then post here so that Toni / we can hopefully see what's going on |

Ok, here are the logs. What I did was just start my AmigaOS 3.9 fullscreen WinUAE config, then press F12 (which did nothing), then quit WinUAE.

DirectDraw issue ?
Maybe switching graphics API to Direct3D 9 or 11 helps ? |

Direct 3D 11 does not support GUI elements in full screen mode.
Direct 3D 9 can but log shows DirectDraw in use which is too obsolete today. If you did select D3D9, you probably miss DirectX 9 redistributable installation. Full-window mode is almost as good today unless you need specific refresh rate (in this case it is good idea to get variable refresh rate monitor ) |

So here's what I've tried now:
1) Change both "Native" and "RTG" settings from "Fullscreen" to "Full window". The combo boxes to the right are both set to "-". 2) Change "Graphics API" to "Direct3D 11" and "Hardware D3D11" Unfortunately, pressing F12 still doesn't show WinUAE's GUI. DirectX 11 is installed. |

Ah, you mean nothing happens when you press F12. Perhaps you have some fullscreen utility (capture/recording/etc.) that steals F12 in fullscreen mode?
EDIT: Does it work if you remap "Enter GUI" input event to some other "more normal" key? Last edited by Toni Wilen; 02 November 2019 at 12:25. |

Ok, looks like something was messed up in my config because F12 was mapped to F12 (PC). When I change this to "Enter GUI" it works. No idea where this mapping came from but then again, the config has been in use for probably more than 15 years now...
