Exodus - The Last War, cd-rom device driver not available
I've installed this cd-rom game via FS-UAE (latest dev version) to a 'virtual' hard disk on my Windows system. The OS system image is ClassicWB (OS3.9/3.1). However to run the game you must identify and configure a cd-rom device driver in the game's configuration panel....and no suitable device driver seems available. Other threads suggest OS3.9's CacheCDFS is a solution but I have no idea how to install this in FS-UAE or whether this is possible?
I don't have this issue with other similar CD based games they are working fine. Any feedback would be appreciated. |

What do you mean "no suitable device driver seems available"? There are no drivers to choose from?

Exodus - The Last War
PopoCop:
Here are some screen shots of request for a driver and the available device drivers, can't say I have tried all of them but given the names that didn't seem likely with some. Last edited by Zorb75; 31 January 2017 at 09:58. Reason: another attachment |

It seems that there is no CD device driver. Try this: run Directory Opus and check the device list. Harddisk and RAM disk should be there (RAM:, DH0: etc.). If CD device is installed and active you should find CD0: or CD1: on device list.

I've have done that previously, Dopus shows no CD despite the fact a CD image is mounted and present in FS-UAE. I think (from other posts) that this is not surprising, unless I have misunderstood, FS-UAE has some limitations in terms of its CD-ROM support...but happy to be proven wrong, I'm still a newbie on this.

Just a quick guess: Type uaescsi.device in the input box, press enter, and save the config. Perhaps this works.

Great. But it's a little weird, that the game doesn't use just the default one, where the drive is mounted from.
