CIA-B TOD (HSync) failure

Hello, with both AmigaTest Kit and DiagROM I am seeing this error. Everything else passes but for TOD HSync 0 TICKS.

Does anyone know what the likely culprit is? Trace, or the component itself?

Depends on the machine. If it's an A600 or A1200 it might be a trace.

Most of the ones where I've had this were failed CIAs though.

Do you know what this failure would affect in any software ?

Things using the timer in that CIA will fail. Difficult to give you a list of software though. :-)

Earlier OSes used to hang in WB menus when one or the other CIA timer was dead, but I seem to remember v36 onwards doesn't use it for that.

For closure: replacing the CIA B chip solved the issue.
