Wanted A500 Power Supply (35.7W)

Hi, does anyone have an A500 Power Supply (35.7W, 4.5 amp) that they would sell me? I live in the UK.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an old broken A500 or C128 power supply? If you do you can salvage the plug that goes into the computer and fashion a working power supply from the sort of supply used by the old IBM PC/XT/AT by wiring the old plug to the wires of the PC supply. I ran my A500 for a long time with an old IBM AT supply.

pin 1: +5V
pin 2: shield ground
pin 3: +12V
pin 4: signal ground
pin 5: -12V

Getting a more modern ATX supply to work would be a little tricky. The green power on line must be driven low to turn on the PSU. A 100K pull down resistor between this line and ground should turn the supply on, but I've never tried this. You might have to wire a temporary switch in series with the 100K to make this work.

On the ATX power supplies I've used, I just connected the wire to the ground right beside it, with no resistor. I think some ATX supplies are different, though, so there may be some that need the resistor.

Thanks for your comments re the PC power supply chaps, but I actually already have one, so why does he want an A500 power supply I hear you ask?, well the fan on it I find rather annoying, it's rather loud and really like the idea of a silent psu, plus I really only need a 35W PSU anyway. I know it is possible to fit a quieter fan to the psu, but I really can't believe that even a so called quite fan will be truly silent.

So if anyone has one they don't need?.....
