Amplifier with OS3.1

I'm tring to run Amplifer on OS 3.1 with CD32
I can't start the program -> "Program failed" suspend or reboot
I'm using ClassicWB 3.1, i've tried Amplifier 2.10 that should run on 3.1
Do i need some complementary libs to run it with 3.1 ?

Tried Amplifier 2.10 from Aminet. It requires an FPU or correct detection of the absence of an FPU. Try this: http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/SetPatch_43.6b

With OS3.9, Amplifier 2.35 runs ok without FPU on CD32

I've tested with the setpatch 43.6b on OS3.1 but same software failure with Amplifier 2.10

Then don't keep the error code secret.

8000000B ist missing FPU.

Did you correctly replace C:SetPatch by the new version? Is SetPatch actually called in S:Startup-Sequence.

OS 3.9 has the bug fixed of course, it is V45, much later than V43.

Sorry for that

Yes the error code is 8000000B, setpatch is correctly called by the startup
with the new setpatch 43.6b, but same error.

Perhaps there is a problem with my OS3.1 installation

I've found that on 3.1.4 it works. If i can't find why it doesn't work, i'll update my current installation and see what happen

@thomas :

Do you successfully run AMPlifier on 3.1 ?

Yes, but not on CD32. I made a CD32 config in WinUAE and it crashes like yours. I'll have to investigate what the differences are.

Amplifier loads several libraries. Check with SnoopDos where it crash. My first guess was mpega.library. If you have it installed make sure you have the right version (non-FPU). Also check datatypes.

Rochabian, in this screenshot you can see what Amplifer needs to work.

This was a silly one. The working 3.1 system has a 68040 with FPU. But it still crashed with 8000000B before opening the playlist window. This crash could be fixed by the new SetPatch.

The CD32 config also works if I add an FPU. Without FPU it crashes immediately and this crash cannot be fixed. Apparently one component of Amplifier is compiled with FPU requirement.

Thanks for the explanations and help guys.

I've found that Ampliifer 2.12 works on 3.1
The only thing is that your screen should be Hi-Res Laced if you want to go to Amplifier settings because in Hi-Res the configuration windows appears empty. Perhaps versions between 2.12 and 2.32 fixed that but i can't find intermediate versions.

At least it works with 3.1 and 2.12 on CD32
