Deluxe Galaga co-op 2 player

I can't for the life of me find how to enter co-op 2 player mode in Deluxe Galaga.

I am playing the WHDload AGA version in FS UAE and have two joysticks connected.

I have also tried one joystick and keyboard.

Is there a menu in the game to enter 2 player mode?

Any tips would be much appreciated, cheers.

Found the answer, need to press F1 to bring up the menu, then F3 to select 2 player co op, then fire to play.
