A1200 flickering picture

On my newly acquired A1200, the picture flickers slightly when only playing games. It's in bars across the screen, on RF and Scart. The system has a HD, when it's disconnected it's still like it. Could it be because it's running on an A600 PSU rather than an A1200 PSU?

My Amiga 1200 suffers from the same thing. It's a bug in the very first A1200's and a resistor fix is available on Aminet:

Thanks for the solution, but it looks a bit too soldery for me!

I'll try and track down the parts.

What ever revision the very first A1200 motherboard was I guess, as I was among the very first people in the UK to get an A1200HD.

Sounds like you have the same issue - I wouldn't call it flicker however. Whenever the CPU is under load the screen suffers slight interference in the background. I've learnt just to ignore it.

I'm actually quite surprised my Amiga is still going after all these years, especially considering the countless hours I've had this thing running! So the first revisions aren't all that bad! Respect!

Have to admit soldering these tiny things is scary
I'm an outboard engine mechanic but I still think soldering small stuff like this is quite tricky..have managed to replace the battery on my A4000D but it didn't make a difference since the clock circuits where dead anyway...killed by acid

Had this flicker problem on my first A1200 but never solved..I learnt to live with it.
I read in Datormagazin about the problem and that people should fix it as a warranty issue but it looks like it didn't work out so well
