pc disk
whats the best pc formatted disk to use on amiga?
do i just tape over hole and format with my amiga? |

Nearly all classic Amiga’s have low density disk drives so it would be best to use real 720k Low/Double density floppies (MS-DOS formatted)

If this is not possible or you've not been able to find any DD floppy's then you can try to use PC standard HD disks. Seems to be an issue sometimes using them as some DD drives can't properly format the HD media.
Taping over the HD hole shouldn't matter as most Amiga drives don't have the ability to detect HD disks. I think I posted sometime back an online vendor of these disks, but they are getting harder to find now ![]() |

If you tape over the hole you can safely format on a PC and it'll make a 720K disk no probs - I find that formating on PC tends to give better results, although the A4000 does it much faster...
