RetroMadrid 2010
RetroMadrid 2010, Madrid Annual retro-gaming meeting, was held last weekend at Computer School in Complutense University of Madrid. The event was inagurated on Friday 12 with a live performance at a municipal theater of a bunch of 8-bit musicians as Salad and Neboa-Duo Cobra playing with old computing stuff, mainly Commodore 64. There was also a duet with a well known local techno-pop star and a really beloved author of spanish 80's games music having fun (in fact, a lot of fun ) with their Amstrad CPC things. And some punk trio playing Bubble Booble too, yeah!
[ Show youtube player ] Next day you could visit the fair itself, with lots of stands of retro-gaming groups introducing their latest production, tons of arcade machines, classic pinballs, conferences, retro-shopping, whatever... You could take a walk by the Computer School Museum and see the ancient machines... and then there was Nintendo, making a party to celebrate Super-Mario 25ยบ anniversary A handful of Amigas were seen in action. You can take a look at it all here: [ Show youtube player ] You can bet it was outstanding! Of course, best of all was meeting a lot of friends from spanish vintage computing internet forums who came from all over the country (and with whom a lot of Amiga related ideas were proposed! ) -- |
