What solder mask to use?

Hi,

I'm about to remove some corrosion on some traces on an A500+ motherboard which I recently purchased. After they are cleaned and tinned, I know I can use a green nail varnish or solder mask to cover the tinned traces to stop oxidation.

As I have Tamiya modelling paint I am wondering if I could paint the traces with green paint and then cover with clear gloss paint.

Has anyone done this, can I do this?

Green paint

Clear gloss

You'll want to google "Conformal Coating". I don't know why people use nail polish when the proper substance for the job is cheap and easy enough to get.
