Commodore Factory in Braunschweig (Germany)
Well, i was always a Commdore kid!! No wonder, there was an important factory for finishing the Commodore machines in the 80s/90s, very near to my hometown.
They also had an own development department, with a high knowledge in building the PC-10 - PC-60 machines, Amiga 2000 and Amiga 3000. Edit: NOOB found a nice picture of the old factory in a "Data Welt" issue. I don't know if this one was taken from the Braunschweig factory, but it gives us a little impression of the production. The company site was assumed in 1996 by Streiff & Helmold, a company for logistic & shipping. Over 120 former Commodore employees had a meeting in 2005, to celebrate their fictive 25th company anniversary. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 15 December 2007 at 15:41. |

Uhm, R-N?
Fred's thread reminded me of this, that there's an interesting movie from the premiere release of the Amiga in Frankfurt in 1986 on Underground Gamer. Might you be interested in helping to translate (subtitle to english) it? It's about 315MB and needs an account there, and I know how you feel about torrents, but... pretty please? I've already asked some guy from UG about this, but he's been quiet from some time... |

You mean this presentation, right? It's pretty boring, with a lot of talk about sales figures and praise of there trading partner etc... Never watched it to the end.
The presetation itself was hosted by a famous German showmaster. He knew not much about computer at this time, so it's a lot of trash talk. http://www.industrial-technology-and...ovs/cbmfra.mov |

That's probably why the original poster way back in june, said he only did 20 mins, and then vanished...
Thanks for clearing that out, it does look boring with my lousy germanish. If it's even more boring *with* subtitles, than it's not worth the trouble. |
