Amiga trips out Gamesroom ELCB
My newly acquired Amiga A1200 switches on fine, but if I switch off, then back on again it trips the ELCB in our gamesroom !
I thought it may be the switch on the power supply, so left it in the on position and used a switchable plug socket - same problem. Seems to always be ok on the first power up, but then trips the earth leakage every time I try a second power off/on I've checked the obvious things like visible damage to the power cable and the wiring inside the power plug. Any ideas ? - Maybe the power supply is dodgy ? |

Yeah, I'd suspect the power supply alright. If it turns on fine the first time it's probably not a simple wiring fault. Surges or arcing inside the power supply are probably the issue - have you got someone nearby to borrow a power supply from to test?

Hmmm, no one I can borrow one from - but I have found an A500 one on ebay reasonably priced (and tested) so may just get that.......My games room is a converted external garage & is fed from the house - the ELCB is in the house and is only wired to the games room, it's pretty old and may be over sensitive ? - we'll see what happens with this A500 PSU it's a pain having to go back in the house and reset after every re-boot !!
