Setting up a Scandy 1200?

Hi, can someone tell me how to hook up a scandy 1200?

I need to know which chips the sockets clip on to and what orientation.

I cant find a manual or diagram on the internet.

Thanks

Damn those Scandy1200s are fragile. I remember when I fitted mine I ended up snapping every wire and having to re-solder.

Looking for scandy 1200 manual?

Hi I've been looking for the manual for a scandy 1200 by Micronik. I've read all the posts and looked in the zone, but its no longer there.

Does anyone still have the PDF and would they be so kind as to upload it for me again?

Thanks in advance...

If anyone has a Scandy 1200, would they run a short test for me?

I want to see if it is a 24-bit scandoubler or 16-bit like the Scan/FlickerMagic.

Could you take a look at this image

And tell me what the numbers on the chips are?

Ta.

3 Pictures actually because AGA cannot display 768 different colours simultaneously.

Each picture has a 256-colour 8-plane AGA image of one of these three colour gradients.

1) 256 shades of RED
2) 256 shades of GREEN
3) 256 shades of BLUE

In a 16-bit scandoubler you will only see:

1) 32 shades of RED
2) 64 shades of GREEN
3) 32 shades of BLUE

For an example of what it will look like, switch your desktop between 16-bit and 24-bit colour modes whilst looking at this picture:

An imperceptibly smooth gradient becomes stepped.

ok the chip on the right of the keyboard connector is the second one and the other one is the one directly underneath the blue cap

Wow I wasnt expecting that.

1204 "Lisa" (Main)
8520 "CIA" (right of keyboard connector)
8364 "Paula" (Below blue Capacitor)

Are you sure about that? Does it work? I cannot imagine how it works connected to those last two chips. Neither has SYNC as far as I know.

Do you have the manual that came with it?

I have been looking at the schematics for the A1200 and I see that HSYNC and VSYNC ARE available on the two CIA chips (one on each) through the TICK input (see schematic page 7a).

The third connector on the SCANDY must connect to the second CIA (further to the right) and not Paula (below blue cap).

U4 1204 "Lisa" (Main, RGB)
U7 8520 "CIA" (right of keyboard connector, VSYNC)
U8 8520 "CIA" (top right, below floppy connector, HSYNC)

Very strange, both hsync and vsync are available on one chip, U2 8374 "ALICE", and that is what the Flicker/ScanMagic connects to. I guess it must be economics. Two smaller connectors must have been cheaper than one bigger one at the time.
