With Fire and Sword: Spiders
I recently saw a review of the game Observer. It's a walking simulator which is not exactly my cup of tea, but it has a very interesting minigame called "With Fire and Sword: Spiders". You have to navigate a maze, collect all the coins, and give them to the princess, and deal with the spiders on your way.
In a couple of days I managed to cobble together an Amiga version based on youtube videos. Be warned: while it's fully playable, it features programmers art, and placeholder sound effects. In other words: artists wanted! You can try the prototype here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzb...ew?usp=sharing It needs an A500 with Kick1.3 and 512k chip RAM. |

Send me a PM. I'm out of town but I'll be sure to check it by the weekend. I can help you with art. You won't be the first. I enjoy the practice and helping.

Ok, i remember i did that tune for the evenience of Catacomb 3D having a mod soundtrack; i think if you like it in the game have the need to switch the empty channel because effects are overlapping, will send you a revised one.

Yep, since that project fell through, I decided to use your music here. This time I made sure the gameplay is fully functional before going forward with the rest
In the prototype I uploaded I let the player pick the less busy channel. Since multiple sound effects could play at once this resulted in the music dropping out too much. I already revised this, and restricted the sound effects to channel 0, which you left empty for me. Speaking of sound effects, would you be interested in creating them for this game? The current ones are just placeholders from an other game |

I made a few silent updates, but I think it's time to make it public. I made a lot of small bugfixes and improvements, but most importantly Sinphaltimus touched up the graphics for me. The link remains the same.

The levels are still embedded in the executable, but they are plain text so it's going to be user editable. I haven't decided how to handle the level progression yet, currently you have to complete the whole thing in one sitting.

Yep, already did twice. Some of those levels really are trial and error for a bit. I love that part of it. The problem solving part. coll that you made this. I'm thinking of making a clone of this for the TI-99/4a. But not anytime soon. Need to clear some projects off my plate first. And of course as long as you don't mind. full credits to you for sure. I wouldn't dare take the credit for a clone, just the steps involved.

Sure thing, it's not like the game is my original idea anyway, so the credit goes to whomever came up with the minigame at Bloober Team.
I'm not really good at these types of games, so I got stuck around level 4 on the normal playthrough, so I definitely want to include some way of saving your progress later. |

Do it the old school way and provide a level code.

A little bump on this thread: i did improve the soundtrack and provided Bszili with sound effects, so if a new version comes out should have both.
