Looking for Artillerus (registered)
This was a game similar to Scorched Tanks/Earth. I knew the author from school and he gave me a registered version back when I had my Amiga 500 in exchange for a few games. Unfortunately I lost it when I sold the computer. All I know of now is the shareware version on a disk collection. Does anyone have this?

Hmmm, you can find a version of this game on the Assassin Game Disk 82 -> http://borrowedtime.emuunlim.com/assassins/index3.htm
And I´m pretty sure I got version 2.xx somewhere on disk here, gotta search ...... |

Assassins is the disk collection I was thinking of. It's just the shareware version I believe. Also your post brings up a good point- the newer versions added more weapons and flexibility so later versions would be most appreciated (like the version 2.xx you're trying to find). Thanks.

You can get Artillerus 2 from here
http://www.playagain.org/t.php?p=Com...F%20(%23-A)%20[0.27]/Artillerus%202%20(1993)(M.%20Boeh)(PD).zip Not sure whether that's a registered version or not. I also had various version of Artillerus and had actually forgetten that it existed. Thanks for reminding me, I used to love that game I'm looking through my old disks (around 1000 so it may take awhile) If I find anything I'll let you know. [EDIT: Just found the original Artillerus. If memory serves it is registered. I'll find out as soon as I convert it to an ADF later today. ] Last edited by Runey; 01 August 2004 at 02:54. |

You're welcome, and thanks for the response (and for the future upload )
I tried the one from playagain.org, but as I suspected from the (PD) at the end it is the unregistered version so I await your upload. |

Consider that those TOSEC names may not always be correct, sometimes putting PD games in TOSEC data file for commercial games etc.

Looks like my disk is corrupt I think I've tracked down the original author and have e-mailed him about getting registered copies of his Amiga games.
Unfortunately I'm doing a bush trip for work next week (as of tomorrow morning) and will have to wait till then to see if I get a reply. |

I wouldn't have thought he would be easy to track down. I guess he still does shareware games then, or some other sort of online presence?
Edit: Well that was easy. Back to the Roots had a link to his website, Retro64.com. Maybe I'll send him an email myself to see if he remembers me. |

Ahhh! Well, glad to know he's willing to give it away at least so if anyone can come up with it maybe it should be able to be put up on BTTR or somplace similar to prevent it from being lost again.

Woah! every so often I would remember playing some shareware tank battle game but its name was always lost in the mists of memory. Then I saw this thread title. BOOM! artillerus, that was it!
I remember this as being rather excellent, hope someone has dug it up since 2004. |

yeah artillerus and artillerus 2 were the best artillery versions. I think.
Scorched tanks is also good but charr the follow up to artillerus, I never got on with due to the simple fact of the text colour being dark blue on black and on an old crt tv that is really a strain to see. also frontal assault looks good but is unplayable to me as the text is so small. |
