Magic Island fan translation?

Well, it looks like I'll need to get the new Amiga Future since Magic Island is on the coverdisc! I have been chomping at the bit to play this one!

Unfortunately Andreas made a post that it still appears to be a Czech-only version. =/

Given that this looks to be one of the best Dungeon Master-style rpgs out there, it'd be really cool if someone with Czech knowledge could work on a translation. D=

IMHO this seems to be up there with Evil's Doom in terms of the most impressive games of the type!

(...still waiting to see what Ve Stinu Magie is like -- that one is impossible to find. D= )

magic island have some serious gameplay bugs, i wondering if its worth to translate, but i can help with it if there isnt any other Better&Faster translators

We should find an agreement for uploading this version for the community.

i found some days ago some old Beta and Alpha Disks from the english (and i think german, too) version from the game. but dont have a disk-drive

It's fine for the community to help the owner by sending him copies of the game, but for the owner to help the community... no no no! There's no money in that is there!

support the owner? No, this is the support for the community! ore think you really we make money with this files? dont forget, our printmag and covercd is a non profit project.

we make new software for the amiga
we release fullversion on our page and covercd
we make one of the last print mags for the amiga
we make one of the biggest german pages for the amiga
we save and make in future the BBoAH
and many other

we dont support the community?

i dont know what are on the disks. the labels from the disks are not very...hmm, correct

in know onmly that the disks have stuff from Magic Island. english and/or german beta/alpha version. but dont know details

yeah I have to admit I didn't structure my sentence perfectly

My point wasn't that ACP&TCP don't support the community, I'm sure they do.

My point was specifically to do with Magic Island - he was requesting people to send him the game, then all of a sudden anyone sharing the game is a bad, bad person.

the disks on our CD are DMS-Files. but we dont have a english version. all version what we become and the user said is the english version, are dont really a english version :/ only czech and some english comments

we go every time the same way. first release the fullversion on the covercd. many users support the mag and thsi users become at first the games. after this (when we have a download-licence, too) we release the the fullversion on http://software.amigafuture.de

i write it in the other mail. we release every time fullversion on our cd. after this we release the software for free on our page. but at this moment, we dont have a english version from the game...

all game texts are stored in separated txt files iirc, so translation can be technically easy.

I will try to find some friends for translation project, gimme some time, we will see what i can do.

You'd be my hero if you put something together.

I'm a huge fan of the Dungeon Master style of RPG. It's sad that no more are being made -- free-movement true-3D games just don't play the same way.

My other dream is to see Xenomorph remade someday, maybe as a sequel. I love that game. =) (Someday I hope to find the Archimedes version of it too -- I have the C64, MS-DOS, Amiga, and Atari ST versions already)
