How To Get JPEG Or BMP Into DPaintIV
Is it possible? What has to be done to get images into an AMiga readable format?
I read somwhere that jpeg can be read by "any" Amiga viewing program - but so far I havent had any luck. Is there a Max image size? Way back when we could import images but I cannot remember the format or method we used.

You can load jpg image to XNView and save it as IFF but you need to reduce colors to 32 (with same program). You can select 2 methods of dithering or without.

Thanks 2325 - That worked great.
 But my pallette bar gets spliced in the process it shows vertically ok but horizontally it is cut in half - any idea why it does that and can it be avoided? |

I guess a quick fix is not to convert to the high-res mode of the image - seems to work ok - but keeping the resolution would be nice - still thinking how....

Personal Paint can natively read a lot of different file formats on the Amiga.

Thanks for the link Leffmann - I managed to uncompress it but how do I use it?
I found the system version in Amiga Forever inside a WB3.1 shared directory desktop thing - i managed to mount a floating HD so i could move the images into the working directory - no more sloppy format conversions - woo hoo! |
