OS 3.9 Large Drive (16GB) and IDEFIX Hangs
Hi all
So a top guy sorted me out a 16GB CF all ready to go. So happy with it. I have a IDE Splitter and use IDEFIX (old setup). However now in WB3.9 and the large drive, IDEFIX hangs the system on boot I think I need to patch something to get IDEFIX to work with large drives? Anyone can guide me, the machine has no internet etc. |

You probably need the IDEfix patches available there: http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/amiga.html
The patches require this version of IDEfix: http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/File:Eb_final.lha |

I think that spatch is not available standalone. But it is contained in many other archives. For example this one: http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/Spatcher1_0
Question: why do you need IDEFix? Do you have more than two devices? If you need the splitter only to adapt from 44 to 40 pins, then it will work without IDEfix if you put both devices on the first channel. IDEfix is only needed to activate the second channel. |

If you'd move the HD to channel 1 you could try this approach: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=79632

Hmm.. Idefix also patches the scsi.device... could there be some conflict if Setpatch tries also to patch the same device? Maybe try disabling scsi.device patching in Setpatch if you want to use Idefix?

If you are using BB2 try using the old AMIGAOS ROM UPDATE renaming it in Sys: Devs.

Update, So I now have a HD sharing the CF channel and HDToolKit can see if but the drives do not appear.
CDROM is now running to, turned off IDEFIX. Only quest now is to see the other harddrive |

Click on the first harddrive in HDToolbox and let it save the changes.
