How to setup WinUAE correctly concerning resolutions?

So, how do you guys setup WinUAE concerning resolutions on your desktop? Are you using fullscreen-modes or something else? My monitor has a terrible lag when using "Amiga+M" between different resolutions (for example 16-bit WB + Asm-One which runs in PAL or something).
Are there any tricks I'm unaware of to get graphics running good? Using Asm-One in 1920x1080 (that's the default resolution of my screen) is a pain since the font gets very small, but running in native 640x256/512 makes the font too big). Anything in between looks bad and scaled..

Hints are appreciated. Thanks

I usually use full-window mode unless fullscreen is needed (if refresh rate change is needed or lagless vsync etc..). If you want to use fullscreen, make sure both RTG and native use exact same resolution and refresh rate, if mode matches, host screen mode changes are not needed.

Also make sure Filter panel scaling is not "default" and then set some integer ratio (2x, 3x etc..). It should fix scaling artifacts.

I am not getting "filter panel" to work with me. Can't see any differences.. I've set "full window" for both native and RTG. Unless I set the same resolution as the monitor itself, things starts to get ugly.

Start with Filter mode -> no scaling. (not "default")
Now you should have small image middle of the screen. (when in native mode)
Then adjust scaling options (integer values in select menu) until image size is large enough.

If it starts looking weird, make sure D3D11/D3D9 mode is enabled. DirectDraw does not support most scaling features.

Ah got it working better, thanks. Using screenmodes (RTG) which doesn't match my monitor still looks odd but native modes looks ok.

Move the slider below Point/Bilinear on the lower right of the Filter panel from 0 to 1.

I'm using the following Display/Filter Fullscreen settings on my 1920x1080 display, and I'm very happy with them (see attached). The example I've provided is for plain A500, but all my configs are the same.
