wb3 to 3.1 and CWB upgrade.

Hi, another born again newb question today.

I have an a1200 with kickstart 3 and workbench 3 with classic workbench lite installed. I was wondering would it be possible just to copy over the installed workbench 3 to upgrade to 3.1, would this throw any errors up, considering I also have a version of classic workbench running as well

Also is it possible to upgrade from lite to full classic workbench, without losing my settings, extra programs in C dir etc.. Reason being I now have a faster card installed with 8mb memory.

You can upgrade to 3.1 if you have 3.1 kickstart roms installed on your
Amiga...or if you have an accerlerator which has maprom feature where you can
Kick a 3.1 image.
You can use classic workbench full with 3.0 roms.
Classic workbench gives you the option when installing to upgrade to 3.1..

OK on the kick starts but im still uncertain on what will happen if I upgrade to 3.1 workbench and Classic Workbench full, will they detect 3.0 files and just upgrade the ones needed or will they overwrite everything?

All it is I have my system just the way I need it and dread losing configs etc. I suppose I could do it the long way but adding all the extra files/buttons in opus manually for instance it will be a real pain and would prefer not to do it again. I wish I had installed with 3.1 and full to begin with.

Finally, I suppose I don't really know if there as any real advantages to make it worthwhile as I don't know what's included over and above 3.0 & classic wb lite
