Yeah but then you'd have a PS3 running Linux, not an Amiga (assuming you want to class this new one as a proper Amiga).

This new machine is probably slow but then the OS is probably leaner than XP or OSX and can be tailored for the hardware. If they can be bothered they can optimise the pants off it and squeeze every last bit of speed out of the machine rather than just tell you to go buy more RAM and a faster CPU like MS do.
