I just tried the same thing with hxcmount on Atari ST and the last firmware :
File size : 340KB
READ TIME : 22 seconds
WRITE TIME : 25 seconds
This show what can be done on Amiga too.
I haven't try the Amiga copy utility yet but i don't think that you can have such read/write performance without redesigning it, even with the latest optimized firmware.
