Regarding Emu 68 it has not gone quiet at all but the interrupts, chip speed I heard no news about. It can very well have gone quiet and I would not bet anything that it will be solved at all.
I would first of all look at Pistorm, Emu 68 as an Amiga NG solution.
As I show in the video I use RTG where chip speed do not matter at all.
I have not tried many original Amiga PAL games yet.
I tried Agony and that game ran perfect.
The plan is to test a lot of stuff in the future and put up some videos.
To get the perfect solution we for sure would want PiStorm to run all 68k games and other stuff as the original hardware. I wonder if a board could be made so it would be possible to have a switch using Pistorm or 68000.
I'm really impressed how good Emu 68 already is.
It is by far the fastest 68k every seen on original hardware.
It is by far the cheapest solution for a fast 68k CPU with RTG gfx.
Next up is WiFi.
All is taken from the Raspberry Pi.
It could even come drivers to use the Pi audio with AHI and even the 3D chip.
For future Arm chips god knows how fast this can be. Almost 1000 MIPS with Pi 3+
