Mega Drive was pretty good, especially those games you mentioned, although my fave was Shining Force -- excellent strategy/RPG thing. And the EA Sports games, of course.
NES was another awesome machine, those platform games like Ninja Gaiden, Kabuki Quantam Fighter and Shatterhand -- no other system quite made 'em like that.
Hey MSX-folks, was there ever a cartridge-only console version of the MSX (like they did with the Amstrad)?
