ModSurfer is a rhythm game for classic Amiga computers. Select a MOD music file from your collection and ride the rhythms to victory! Tracks are generated algorithmically and work with unmodified MODs. A curated MOD pack is available but I also recommend trying out your own!
All classic PAL Amigas are supported, 1MB (512K chip) minimum. Larger MODs require more chip RAM. Runs at a smooth 50 FPS on A500. Supports hard disk installation and ADFs included. Tested on my real A1200/030 and an emulated A500. Loading time is a little quicker on faster Amigas.
Mouse is highly recommended but joystick/keyboard are also supported. If emulating I recommend trying out WinUAE's beam-raced vsync mode. Input latency is key on the faster tracks and this mode is as fast as my real Amiga.
ModSurfer is a product of the EAB GameDev Competition. Development started in August 2018 and finished 6 months later. It evolved from a little experiment in algorithmic lead instrument detection into a fast-paced addictive rhythm game.
