You want shock treatment (not suitable for electronic parts, obviously) ? Take a sturdy plastic bag (not from a trash bag roll since the latter usually are somewhat smelly), put your smelly plastic components in it, also put some cotton pads damped with essential lavender oil. Close the bag, put all that stuff in the freezer. Let it act for a day or two, most likely the smell is gone.
