why don't you try to fix it just cutting a little at the edge of the cable.

I had a similar problem with the original kbd on my A600...I cut several times and worked until it broke again.
I tried to cut again but no success.
A friend of mine sold me another membrane, and he did the same little cutting at the edge but with a professional paper trimmer...there it is: working perfectly again!
