Use of mungwall and enforcer (or similar tools, MMU emulation needed) may help. Use -log -serlog parameters to see mungwall/enforcer serial output in real time.
Does same happen if you create same size hdf and use it instead of card reader? (From Amiga point of view it is practically identical situation)
